Nico is asleep and I’m gonna take a break from something that fulfills me (practicing guitar chords).
Let me share some things we’d cover in a coaching partnership when covering fulfillment.
In our collaborative conversations, you'd have shared and defined what your closely held values are and maybe crafted a vision statement. To get to this empowering state we would have experienced insightful, exciting and sobering discussions about your high and low points in life.
Those prior conversations would help set the stage for coaching sessions on whatever topic you wanted to cover, such as feeling stuck in a position or perspective and processing states of being. We’d anchor back to your values and vision statement (V&VS) and where you are in relation to them with your session topic.
I’d call you out in our discussions if I sensed misalignment with your V&VS, but you didn’t. You’d trust me challenging you given my role to support your self discovery, learning and growth.
To give you an idea what our session might be like in a fulfillment coaching session, here is one question I’d ask:
*Who are you pleasing for each of the choices you are considering?
A question like this is meant to help ensure that you are aligned with your V&VS. This question is especially insightful, since often we forfeit our own values out of fear and to please others.
I'll also be on the lookout for saboteurs that can prevent you from fulfillment.
What do you think? Does this sound like something you’d like to explore in a coaching partnership with me?
For now, I’m gonna get back to something that fulfills me as Nico barks in his sleep, dreaming about chasing bunnies or playing with our other dogs.
