It’s relaxing to only do one thing at a time. To put the world, the pace of multitasking, deadlines and to-do’s on hold.
My only task today (aside from sharing this thought with you) is to keep the fire burning.
That’s it.
Adding large pieces of firewood, then smaller ones, and kindling. Then larger pieces again. Watching the rapture of flames. Listening to the cracking of the burning wood. And if I run out of wood I’ll go out next to our shed to get more.
Maybe you’ll get the chance to find your one thing to do today. Or tomorrow. Or during the week.
To put the world on pause by only doing one thing.
To keep your inner fire burning for when you rejoin humanity.
Time to add more wood....
