You don’t know what it is. Or, at one point you knew what it was but tucked it away and focused on your path.
But it’s palpable and real, day in and day out.
You sense it during the meetings, virtually now and pre-Covid, during introductions and cross department or functional meetings. And "don't rock the boat."
You feel it most when you need someone to relate to you and you to relate to someone.
You remember. “Ah, yes, that’s what it is.”
(You sigh.)
“With time, things will change.....with my help”, you tell yourself.
But for now, you must persevere, like you have so far, and keep adding value.
It’s lonely at the top or through your journey being brown or black skinned.
